by GizmoShot | Published On December 28, 2021

Samsung is currently preparing a revised One UI 4 version, which contains patches from Google.

Update, December 27 (9:01 AM EST): Samsung vowed to restart the launch of One UI 4 as soon as possible.

What you need to know

  • According to reports, after the stable update of One UI 4, some Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 devices experienced various problems.
  • The Android 12 update seems to brick some devices while booting other devices into recovery mode.
  • Presumably, Samsung plans to stop the launch before these issues are resolved.

According to reports, due to increasing customer complaints a few days after the update was released, Samsung is considering preventing the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 from stably launching One UI 4 (Android 12).

Some Korean users have reported various problems on their devices since installing One UI 4 on Samsung’s community forums. According to one of the complaints, the update bricked Samsung’s foldable device.

In some cases, the phone enters recovery mode after the update, and restarting does not seem to solve the problem. In other cases, the update seems to cause other problems, such as screen flickering, dark mode, and slow performance.

Other users also reported that some applications cannot use the dual messenger feature. Some people complained that the screenshot didn’t work and the picture disappeared from the gallery.

The problem also extends to various video applications, such as Netflix and YouTube, which have reportedly stopped running on some of Samsung’s best Android phones. Some Galaxy Z Fold 3 displays are obviously stuck at a refresh rate of 60Hz.

SamMobile said that these problems are not limited to South Korea, because users in other regions are obviously also facing similar problems. Samsung could not immediately respond to Android Central’s request for comment.

However, according to SamMobile, the South Korean tech giant reportedly plans to suspend the rollout of the update until a fix is released.

The launch of One UI 4 will be restarted soon and is applicable to Samsung’s recent flagship devices, including the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3.

The Samsung community moderator has confirmed that the company is fixing some compatibility issues with the Google Play system (via SamMobile). These issues have previously forced Samsung to suspend One UI 4 updates.

The South Korean tech giant is currently revising the update to include patches from Google to address these compatibility issues.
