Next-gen immersive experiences for hands-on experience.
Not only did the PS5 bring better graphics and higher frame rates, it also gave players a new controller, the DualSense. The successor to the DualShock 4 features a higher-quality built-in microphone, a refined touchpad, an improved battery, and most importantly, haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
The latter two functions can be used by game developers in unique ways. For example, haptic feedback can provide unique sensations, such as the sound of rain or an explosion of energy, in a way that is more focused and accurate than vibration motors. At the same time, due to the realization of special physical functions, adaptive triggers can provide various functions for different weapons, essentially providing game functions that cannot be achieved in other situations.
To name a few, Arkane Studios’ Deathloop uses adaptive triggers so that if the gun gets stuck, the trigger physically locks. Meanwhile, in Insomniac Games’ Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, you can partially pull the trigger to fire one barrel on a specific gun, or pull it all the way to both barrels.
Meanwhile, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart also uses haptic feedback to make Ratchet feel like running across various surfaces, and the polished metal walkways feel nothing like wading through tall grass or wading through mud.
Considering all the different ways it can be used will start to be close to impossible, so we’ve listed all the games that are confirmed to take advantage of one or both of these unique features. Below is a list of PS5 games that support DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.
Note: We’re still not sure if some of the games below will use both adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. We’ve tagged these games accordingly.

As this list grows and the generation continues, we’ll be sure to expand the table with more details and confirmed games. While games from PlayStation Studios will certainly use these features, third-party support may become less and less likely over time.
These are just some of the more advanced features possible on the PS5. Newer hardware also allows some PS5 games to support different types of ray tracing. Meanwhile, some other PS5 games even support 120 FPS.

Unique features of DualSense set it apart from other controllers and offer new ways to enjoy gaming. There are also options as you can choose from white, black or red.
Next-gen gaming is here!
In our PS5 review, Android Central Games editor Jennifer Locke was impressed with the DualSense, calling it a great strength for Sony’s console, and saying that you have to really feel it to understand why it’s so good. If you haven’t managed to snag one yet, keep an eye out for PS5 restocks so you can join the latest generation of games.
To keep your controller charged and ready, you may need to use a DualSense charging station. We noticed that the more the game used adaptive triggers and haptic feedback features, the faster the battery drained. There’s no consistent pattern to this, but overall, a DualSense controller with a healthy battery used to play Astro’s Playroom will last less than three hours based on our testing.
