- Samsung brings One UI 4 (Android 12) to Galaxy A72.
- This device is the first A-series smartphone to receive an operating system upgrade.
- Other Galaxy A phones will receive updates in February, at least in the US
Samsung has been busy updating its flagship Android phones with One UI 4 (Android 12), but it seems that the update has finally reached the company’s mid-range devices. The Galaxy A72 seems to be the first A-series device to receive a stable Android 12 update.
According to SamMobile, the update will be released for A72 users in Russia. The firmware version is A725FXXU4BULA with a security patch for December.
This device is one of the listed S series phones that can receive Android 12, but as 9to5Google pointed out, it plans to receive the update before February. This is also the same time that the Galaxy A52 5G will also be updated, at least according to the US launch schedule. In other words, as pointed out by the recent Galaxy S10 series launched in Europe, the date and model will vary from region to region.
The Galaxy A72 was launched together with the Galaxy A52 in March last year, although it has never received a 5G version. The lack of 5G and the lower 90Hz display refresh rate make the arrival of the A72 much less than the A52 5G, which is considered to be one of the best budget Android phones this year.
After its release in Russia, Android 12 may soon be launched on Galaxy A72 devices in other regions, so if you have this model, please continue to pay attention. You can check for updates by navigating to Settings> Software update> Download and install.
