OPPO is gearing up to unveil the Find X5 series on February 24 to showcase its next-generation imaging experience. The OPPO Find X5 Pro will be the protagonist of the launch, building on last year’s impressive Find X3 Pro.
Official images reveal that the rear will feature a “futuristic” unified design that wraps around the camera hump. OPPO says the Find X5 Pro will feature an ultra-hard “true ceramic” back to reduce fingerprints while maintaining a cool and smooth touch.
In terms of camera system, it will be equipped with the MariSilicon X image chip released by OPPO in December. The company hasn’t detailed the camera setup, but we know the imaging chip will boost processing power and artificial intelligence to enhance photos and 4K recording, especially at night.
After a similar partnership with OnePlus and its best Android phones, OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau also publicly highlighted the collaboration with Hasselblad on the camera system. So far, rumors have suggested we’ll see a dual 50MP setup of the main sensor and an ultra-wide sensor, as well as a 13MP telephoto camera with 5x zoom.
Powering it all is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, which we’ll see in more flagships this year, which will run the “new ColorOS,” which will likely ship with Android 12.
You can stream the OPPO Find X5 launch on February 24th at 11AM GMT/6AM ET from the company’s YouTube account. This is especially the day before the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra goes on sale in retail stores.
