Get ready for an onslaught of Motorola smartphones in the coming months.
what you need to know
- Almost all of Motorola’s next-gen smartphones have been leaked.
- The devices are codenamed Motorola “Austin”, “Rogue”, “Rhode”, “Dubai” and “Hawaii+”.
- These devices may be mid-range or low-end models, all of which appear to have a 50MP camera on the back.
Samsung caught almost everyone’s attention today when it released the Galaxy S22 series and Galaxy Tab S8 tablets. But that shouldn’t stop other smartphone brands from trying to steal some of its thunder, like Motorola.
prolific leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks) Here it is again, this time showing a series of renders showing the challenger to nearly every upcoming best budget Android phone from Motorola this year. The leaks include the phone’s codenames, namely Motorola “Austin,” “Rogue,” “Rhode,” “Dubai,” and “Hawaii+.”

Motorola Lord will allegedly offer 4G and 5G variants with slim bezels on all sides. The renders also suggest that the phone will ship in black and white.
Meanwhile, Motorola Hawaii may have an OLED display and ship in a dark green color. The bezels are pretty much slim except for the bottom. The Motorola Austin falls into the same category, albeit with much larger bezels. Aside from these models, the rest of the phones have thin bezels.
A closer look at the back of each render also reveals a 50MP primary sensor that seems to be shared by all upcoming Motorola devices. Their camera array is also similar to the Motorola Edge X30, the company’s flagship device that debuted late last year and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
These upcoming phones appear to be mid-range models, like many of the best Motorola phones released over the past few months, although previous leaks suggest the company is setting its sights on the higher end of the smartphone market.
It’s not surprising to see such a massive smartphone leak from a company that’s releasing devices at an incredible rate. However, it’s unclear when the devices will appear and how much they will cost.
