Pro stands for protection with these Google Pixel 6 Pro cases

by GizmoShot | Published On February 16, 2022

The Google Pixel 6 Pro features a great camera upgrade, instant dictation/translation with Google Tensor, and a 6.7-inch curved screen with variable refresh rate. Anyone who’s ever owned a phone with a curved screen knows that protecting the sides of your phone is critical to keeping your phone intact. With that in mind, here are the best Pixel 6 Pro cases to keep your shiny new flagship safe.

Slim but safe

Spigen Liquid Air Armor – Google Pixel 6 Pro Case Matte Black

Employee selection

If you don’t want to add bulk with an oversized Pixel 6 Pro case, you want something slim but still thick enough to provide some impact protection and significantly increase grip. The Liquid Air Armor has great texture on the back and sides, which is why I recommend it over its classic Rugged Armor sibling.

Otterbox Symmetry Clear Series

There are few better cases than Otterbox. The Symmetry Clear range is made from over 60% recycled plastic, so you know it’s good for the environment. With a clear design, you can still show off your Pixel 6 Pro while making sure it doesn’t fall out in the process.

great second tone

Caseology Parallax Cover – Google Pixel 6 Pro Cover Gold

While the Caseology Parallax’s lineup isn’t quite as colorful as previous Pixels, the gold and grey-grey colorway brings a unique style to the already distinctive Google Pixel 6 Pro case. The gradual rise around the camera bar helps it stick out less, and the new textured grips on the sides are carried over from the Pixel 5a Legion case.

unique feeling

Google Pixel 6 Pro Case – Case with Double Layer Shock Absorption Protection

Google’s frosted clear case is very thin and made from 30% recycled material. Since it’s so easy to pick up, you might be concerned it’ll keep going, but the bigger issue is grip. The matte texture is unique, but it doesn’t offer the same grip you might expect. Golden Glow is beautiful, but this Pixel 6 Pro case is more stylish than functional.

VRS Designs Damda Glide Hybrid

We love the stand case, wallet case, and heavy-duty Pixel 6 Pro case, and VRS gave us three in one neat little package. However, while the kickstand housing usually doubles as a phone handle, you should strictly use it as a vertical/horizontal kickstand, as it mounts on the sliding card cover.

Ringke Fusion Compatible – Google Pixel 6 Pro Case, Clear Rigid PC Back Shock Resistant

Clear cases allow us to show off our phones in their native style, while still giving them the grip and protection they need for the next five years. Ringke’s Fusion comes in two styles, but I highly recommend the matte one as it doesn’t reflect every bright object around and doesn’t smudge very quickly.

poetic revolution

With a phone as big as the Pixel 6 Pro, you can use it as a small secondary screen while you work, but you need a stand that works in portrait, not just landscape. The Revolution’s stand is sturdy, and the silicone plug on the bottom lets you keep your USB-C port clean.

ghost secret

You know those horrific photos of broken screens that make you want to hide your Pixel 6 Pro in a satin box? Yes, one of our favorite Pixel 6 Pro cases, the Ghostek COVERT, doesn’t have these issues. Red gel corners absorb impact and the sides are frosted textured for easy grip.

kwmobile soft fit

Whether you’re looking for a phone case in Legally Blonde pink, Michigan blue, or a lavender color reminiscent of the Pixel 3a, kwmobile has a lightweight case for you. This case is slightly thinner than the Spigen Liquid Air, which means less bulk, but also less impact protection.

HAIJUN leather wallet

Most wallet cases are somewhat unremarkable, but this collection of leather folios adds a little style, with a cube-like texture on the right edge that adds contrast to the feel. The interior features two card slots, a cash flap and a unique plaid lining that matches the leather exterior.

Case Library

While the Vault isn’t as colorful or thin as the kwmobile Soft Slim, it’s still more colorful than the Spigen and has one of the most pleasing textures I’ve found on a TPU case. The camera module is well protected by a gradient bumper that helps protect those nifty new sensors.

UAG Scout Collection – Google Pixel 6 Pro Case Scout Black

Urban Armor Gear has a Pixel 6 Pro offering, and while the Scout isn’t quite as iconic as the Monarch, it’s also not nearly as expensive. It also has considerable durability and a mysterious, understated look.

Teelevo double-layer housing with card slot

While most wallet cases are bulky, eye-catching, or both, Teelevo’s card slot case doesn’t look any different from other heavy-duty cases when closed. The slot holds two cards, and since it’s fully contained, I wouldn’t push it too far, but it’s stealthy.

SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle Pro Series Cover for Google Pixel 6 Pro – Full Body Rugged Leather Case and Stand Cover

SUPCASE’s Rugged UB Pro Case is the perfect choice for you to fall and get dirty easily. The silicone flap keeps out dust and pocket lint, and the front frame has a built-in screen protector. The sturdy vertical stand on the back is just the icing on the cake. The entire color lineup makes for some attractive Pixel 6 Pro cases, with both Metallic Red and Metallic Blue providing quite a contrast.

Pela Google Pixel 6 Pro Case – Biodegradable Phone Case

Pela’s biodegradable, sustainably manufactured boxes are compostable and durable. Although more expensive, Pela uses ethical manufacturing and higher quality materials to ensure its products are true zero-waste mobile phone protection solutions. This eco-friendly Pixel 6 Pro case is available in three casting styles and over a dozen colors.

More case options than ever before

Case makers like UAG, which skipped the Pixel 5 last year, are offering a solid case for the big, delicate Pixel 6 Pro. This brand, along with many others like Otterbox and Spigen, is offering some of the best Pixel 6 Pro cases you can buy.

My personal favorites for the Pixel 6 Pro are the Spigen Liquid Air Armor — an essential grip on a phone of this size — and the Caseology Parallax, which offers grip but also some unique style and a camera module Good bumper around. Poetry Revolution is also pretty nifty if you want more protection in your case.

A few words about the official Google Pixel 6 Pro case

The first option sparked a heated debate between the Android Central staff and many Pixel 6 Pro owners. The case is very thin and has a unique texture that adds up to a case with little impact protection and odd grip. Some people absolutely love the Pixel 6 Pro case, and the Google Store-exclusive Golden Glow version has been out of stock. However, there are others, like our own Jerry Hildenbrand, who spoke out about his displeasure with the case for three weeks on the Android Central podcast.

Here’s the facts: The Google Pixel 6 Pro case is a frosted plastic case made from 30% post-consumer recycled plastic. This slim clear case is designed to perfectly fit the curves of the Pixel 6 Pro around the screen and camera module. Still, since it’s open on the sides around the camera module and the curved edges of the screen, it’s also more prone to shattering if it falls out of your hand or pocket. Of course, this isn’t a problem for cases with excellent grip, like the Caseology Vault or the Spigen Liquid Air Armor. Still, there’s something about the matte finish of the case. It feels grippy and tactile as it should be, but it’s surprisingly smooth. If you’re going for a Google Pixel 6 Pro case, I highly recommend sticking a PopSocket on it for added stability, or at least a PopGrip Slide Stretch that you can use when you’re out and about, then give up when you get home and need wireless charging.

There’s also the matter of color: while some colors fit all models, some of these color combinations end up looking silly. Take Soft Sage, for example: paired with the Cloudy White Pixel 6 Pro, it looks ok. But if you have a Sorta Sunny Pixel 6 Pro, Sage will turn it into this disgusting cantaloupe rind. Golden Glow looks good with white and sunny styles, but looks weird with black. So be careful when choosing colors. There are downsides to the actual color, but Light Frost looks great with all colors.
