Samsung suspends Galaxy Tab S8 and S8 Ultra pre-orders due to high demand

by GizmoShot | Published On February 12, 2022

The Galaxy Tab S8+ is still available for pre-order, but that could change soon.

What you need to know

  • Samsung has suspended pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8 Ultra.
  • The move was motivated by “overwhelming demand,” according to the company.
  • Still, you can pre-order the tablet from other online retailers like Best Buy.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series is easily the best Android tablet on the market, but if you try to pre-order a tablet right now, you might be out of luck. Samsung has suspended pre-orders for the vanilla and Ultra models on its online storefront due to “overwhelming demand.”

As spotted by XDA Developers, both the regular Galaxy Tab S8 and Tab S8 Ultra were marked as sold out on Samsung’s website two days after the product launch. Here’s what a company representative had to say about the state of the equipment:

We couldn’t be more excited about the consumer reaction to our new Galaxy Tab S8 line. Due to high demand over the past 48 hours, we’re suspending pre-orders for the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra and Galaxy Tab S8 on Samsung.com. We are working quickly to meet consumer excitement and demand. Stay tuned for more updates.

Fortunately, the Galaxy Tab S8+ is still available for pre-order. However, XDA speculates that this may not be the case for long, as there is a good chance it will be out of stock soon.

Given its incredible value, the tablet is understandably in high demand. All three models are powered by the 4nm-based Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset that powers some of the best Android phones on the market.

Their stunning displays, solid battery life, and improved connectivity make these devices a worthy upgrade to the Galaxy Tab S7 lineup. Samsung is also promising up to four generations of Android OS upgrades and five years of security updates for its latest tablets.

Fortunately, that’s not all bad news for those looking to opt for the Ultra or vanilla variant. XDA notes that both models are still available for pre-order through other online stores like Best Buy. But time may not be on your side, so you need to act quickly to protect your device before it runs out.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 series retains the same specs as the Galaxy Tab S7, but takes performance up a notch with the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, at least 8GB of RAM, Wi-Fi 6E connection speeds, and a gorgeous display.
