The messaging app uses iMessage-style reactions and new formats to hide spoilers.
What you need to know
- Telegram launched the last major update of this year.
- This update introduces some new features that users have been waiting for for a long time.
- It now has iMessage style reactions, spoilers, translations, etc.
Before the end of 2021, Telegram provides its users with a new kind of enjoyment. The service has released a new update that includes a series of new features, including message reactions, hidden text formatting for spoilers, subject QR codes, and translation.
Although most of the best Android messaging apps such as Facebook Messenger and Slack have supported emoji response for a long time, Telegram has not had this feature until now. Although the game is a bit late, it now adds message reactions, which are obviously inspired by Apple’s iMessage.
You can call up emoji reactions by tapping or holding down the message, just like dealing with other message reactions. Each reaction has its own animation, and you can even specify a specific reaction for the double-tap gesture for quick triggering.
Spoilers are also a new format that allows you to discuss with your friends what happened in the movies you have seen in group chats, while hiding key events or turning points from others who have not yet seen it. You can use the Spoiler format to hide specific text by selecting certain parts of the message and applying the Spoiler format. This will also hide the selected part of the chat list and notifications. However, if people click on it, they can still view the hidden messages.
Another convenient feature selected by Telegram is the translation option, which adds a dedicated translation button to the context menu of the message. You can turn on new features through the language section in the app settings.
Of course, you can disable the translation of messages in languages that you have spoken or understood. This option is available for all the best Android phones, but the number of languages available varies by operating system.
Telegram also supports the creation of themed QR codes for anyone with a public username, as well as the creation of QR codes for bots, groups, and channels. This feature is designed to make sharing usernames or group chats easier.
Finally, the messaging app received more interactive emojis. This means that after sending an emoji, you can click on it to watch its funny animation. These new features are included in Telegram 8.4.
