The Pixel At a Glance widget just got some long-awaited features

by GizmoShot | Published On January 22, 2022

We’ve seen this happen for a while.

what you need to know

  • An update to the Google app brings new overview features to the Pixels.
  • The overview can now display fitness activity from certain apps and bedtime information from the Clock app.
  • The widget can also display a timer or stopwatch.

While Google has been busy fixing a slew of bugs on the Pixel 6 with its latest January update, the company just rolled out an update to the Google app that enables new features for the Overview widget.

Mishaal Rahman spotted the new update on Friday, which has already started rolling out to Pixel users.

This update enables new toggles in Timer and Stopwatch, Bedtime, and Fitness Overview. The first is self-explanatory, while Bedtime will integrate with the Clock app to show your upcoming bedtime. Fitness is a bit more fun, and it integrates with some of the best running apps like Strava and Adidas Running to display your activity information on the home screen.

Some new overview settings are rolling out.

Timer and stopwatch, bedtime and fitness toggles are here. Fitness can display data from Adidas Running and Strava (and possibly others).

These features have been spotted before, along with others that don’t seem to be available yet. However, they’ve been rolling out steadily, and users recently got access to Nest Doorbell video feeds.

New features should appear with the latest version of the Google app.You can do this by long-pressing the overview widget and selecting custom made. From there, you can turn new features on or off (on by default), and even choose to show them on your always-on display.
