These are the best Stadia games to play right now in 2022

by GizmoShot | Published On February 27, 2022

Google has some of the largest AAA games on its platform, and the catalog is constantly expanding and improving. Over a year on the market, dozens of games on Stadia are instantly playable with no downloads, patches or updates. So whether you like shooters, role-playing games, online multiplayer, platformers, indie games, or something in between, Stadia definitely has something for you. Here’s our list of the best Google Stadia games available to you right now.

Featured Collection

Cyberpunk 2077 for Stadia

CD Projekt RED’s open-world epic might not be the genre-defining revolution many hoped for, but the Stadia version does a great job. While the PS4 and Xbox One versions currently have terrible performance issues and a ton of bugs, the Stadia version is comparable to, and arguably the best way to play games on a gaming PC. I absolutely love it in my review and am happy to see it get better.

Baldur’s Gate 3 on Stadia (Early Access)

Employee selection

Although it’s still in Early Access, Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3 has become yet another RPG masterpiece from one of the genre’s superstars. The developers behind the critically acclaimed Divinity: Original Sin series take control of the iconic Dungeons & Dragons universe in this splendid feast of turn-based tactics and great storytelling. It also runs fine on Stadia via PC and has surprisingly good controller support. Unfortunately, it’s not yet on consoles, so it’s currently the only way to play without a gaming PC.

best action horror

Stadia Resident Evil Village

Resident Evil Village continues the story of Ethan Winters and his family as they deal with Resident Evil 7: Aftermath of Resident Evil. Unlike Resident Evil, however, Resident Evil Village focuses more on the action-horror aspect of the classic series. It provides players with incredible gameplay moments as they explore castles filled with terrifying (and tall) vampires, villages overrun by werewolves, and more.

Dawn of the Dark Ages

Stadia’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

There are many great Assassin’s Creed games, many of them on Stadia, but the more recent Valhalla is excellent on its own. This is an epic Viking tale that puts you in the shoes of Eivor, a Viking warrior determined to take revenge and conquer the lands of England. It continues the series’ shift to the open-world RPG genre and simplifies many elements, making it one of the best in the entire series. If you sign up for Ubisoft on Stadia, you can play tons of Assassin’s Creed games for a low subscription fee.

silent assassin

Stadia Killer 3

As the first game on Stadia to feature the innovative State Share feature, Hitman is a must-play game. Together, they provide incredible spy moments that make you feel like a master assassin, and they’re some of the most beautiful games on the platform. Hitman 3 is the latest and greatest, and you get Hitman and Hitman 2 for free with a Stadia Pro membership.

Create games for everyone

Crayta for Stadia

Here’s the family-friendly entry on the list. Think of Crayta as a combination of Roblox’s world-building and game-creation toolset. Still, it’s distilled into an accessible and appealing format with Fortnite-inspired visuals. You can open the editor on your PC to really get into the details, or have a quick and easy fun with friends. Crayta is anything you want, and now it’s free for anyone and everyone on Stadia, not just Pro subscribers.

hide and seek

Dead by Daylight on Stadia

Have you ever wanted to play hide and seek with a serial killer? Then we have the game for you! Four survivors must secretly fix a generator to escape, as they get trapped in a creepy arena with a mad killer also controlled by another player. This unique, asymmetrical multiplayer mode is one of the most intense and scary games. Crossplay means you can always find matches against players on Stadia, PC, Switch, PS4, PS5 and Xbox systems.

Guardian and Glory

Destiny 2: New Highlights for Stadia

Being able to play Bungie’s popular first-person shooter on mobile is one of the most exciting things about Stadia. The base game and its two expansion packs are currently free to play with your Stadia account, so you can test the system and explore the game’s bizarre world by yourself or with a friend. Once you’ve honed your skills, you can start competing in PvP, or buy some expansion packs to continue your adventure.

DOOM Eternal by Stadia

Fight demons with shoulder-mounted flamethrowers, retractable wristband-style blades, and other ridiculous weapons in the latest version of the first-person shooter. You can also test your PvP skills by playing Demons with two friends.

Tamriel Traveler

The Elder Scrolls Online for Stadia

As the only true MMO on Stadia, The Elder Scrolls Online doesn’t have much competition. Fortunately, it’s also one of the best MMOs on the market. With the Stadia version, you get maximum flexibility and gaming on your TV, PC or mobile. Submitting daily quests and completing quick quests is so easy on mobile, it’s a great game whether it’s a short or long overnight game. Of course, it would be nice to have no mandatory subscription fees.

Stadia grid

Every best game list needs a solid racing champion, and GRID is a perfect fit. It’s a perfect blend of arcade-style racing and simulation mechanics, offering something that’s not too easy but not too complicated. Visually, it’s stunning, and it even has a Stadia-exclusive mode that can cram up to 40 players into a single match. It gets very intense very quickly.

little horror

Little Nightmares 2 by Stadia

Tarsier Studios’ latest effort is a major improvement over its predecessor and perfectly delivers on its promise of a world full of “fascinating horror”. Little Nightmares 2 is at times unsettling, tense, and downright scary, but never loses the innocence that appeals to you. Definitely one of the first must-play games of 2021; it has the benefit of being included with Stadia Pro for free for all subscribers. Of course, you don’t need to have played the previous games before playing this one, but it will enhance the impact of the story.

Mortal Kombat 11 on Stadia

Play as a character from the long history of fighting games, or test your moves with some famous new challengers like The Joker and Spawn. This version also features a new custom character change system, and the more you play, the more skins and moves you unlock.

wild west

Red Dead Redemption 2 for Stadia

In this sprawling open-world game, play as an outlaw trying to survive the waning days of the Wild West. Choose carefully as you try to keep your gang together while evading law enforcement officers. Red Dead Redemption 2 is also like two games in one, thanks to the huge success and popularity of Red Dead Online.

escape death

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice for Stadia

Stadia may not have any Dark Souls games, but you can enjoy From Software’s Sekiro, which has refined the formula to a razor-sharp edge. This game really pushes Stadia to its limits as a platform, because the instant time requirements for blocks and attacks are very demanding. It’s a great game, but not if your internet connection isn’t rock solid.

Pixel perfect production

Terraria for Stadia

At first glance, it’s easy to think of Terraria as another Minecraft clone, but this time with 2D pixel art visuals. While ostensibly true, Terraria has far more to offer than initially seen. The Stadia version is the perfect port of the great sandbox survival game, with zero compromises compared to its dedicated console counterparts. But if you don’t like extremely open-ended crafting games, it probably still isn’t for you.

streaming

Since the launch of Stadia, Google has been working hard to bring some of the best games to its platform. Every month, users see new releases ranging from AAA classics to small indie games and everything in between. No matter what type of game you like, you’re sure to find great stuff on Stadia. The top of this list is definitely Cyberpunk 2077, which defies logic and performs best on Stadia compared to most other options.

Other big open world games like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Red Dead Redemption 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, even in Early Access, are becoming one of the RPG superstars.

Whether you’re gaming on your smartphone, TV, or web browser, Stadia has tons of great games for you to explore right away. So, instead of trying to find something worth playing during your first few months on Stadia, the question is, how do you find the time to play all these great games? Also, what are you playing? Stadia has a lot of great wireless game controllers to get you started.
